Lost Lake Triptych

“Lost Lake Triptych” is a mixed media collage with hand-marbled paper and a laser-cut birch plywood overlay. Created as a private commission, this piece was inspired by the summit view of the Lost Lake trail outside Seward, Alaska illuminated in deep reds and blues by fall colors in the tundra. Starting with a digital mockup from an inspiration image, I roughly cut and placed papers that fit the color scheme, finalized the collage using matte medium, then traced, scanned, and vectorized the contours to create the laser cut wood overlay. As a last step, I painted the overlay to help the wood blend with the collage, and then framed and varnished each piece to protect it from dust and scratches.
