Bird Triptych I: Papercut & Layered Mixed Media

Layering hand-cut and laser-cut wood and paper, this three-panel series explores generational trauma, particularly effects on granddaughters due to epiginetic factors (the effect of our environment on genetic regulation) and microchimerism (the presence of circulating cells, bidirectionally transferred from one genetically distinct individual to another during pregnancy).

  • Materials: birch plywood, hand painted and marbled paper
  • Techniques: paper cutting by hand with a 10M Xacto blade, scanned and vectorized with Adobe Illustrator, and additional cutting with a 65W Boss Laser 1416
